The Journey to Certification
From Champion to Certified — A Clear Path to Community Impact
H.O.P.E. Certification is a structured, community- driven process. It begins with a single champion and grows into an enduring culture of workplace mental health across an entire region.
The Three-Stage Process
How It All Comes Together
1
📣
Regional Champion
A committed leader or organization steps up to convene and sustain the effort.
→
Every H.O.P.E. Certification journey follows the same proven path — from a committed regional leader through a community summit and into a year-long cohort that transforms workplace culture.
2
🤝
Workplace Wellbeing Summit
An immersive one-day event that builds alignment and recruits cohort participants.
→
3
📋
H.O.P.E. Cohort
A 12-month implementation program with four quarterly modules and ongoing coaching.
Step 1
The Regional Champion: Where It All Begins
Change at scale doesn't happen by accident. It starts with someone willing to step forward — a leader, a coalition, a forward-thinking organization that sees the cost of inaction and chooses to do something about it.
A Regional Champion is the catalyst that brings the H.O.P.E. Certification process to life in a community or industry. They are the connective tissue between organizations, facilitators, and the shared mission of building a mentally healthier workforce.
Convene key organizations around a shared commitment to worker mental health
Plan and organize the regional Workplace Wellbeing Summit
Promote participation across industries and sectors
Recruit organizations into the full H.O.P.E. Certification cohort
Serve as the ongoing connector between organizations and facilitators
Advance regional impact and champion sustained cultural change
🏆 What Makes a Champion?
🌍 Community Influence — Champions are credible, well-connected leaders who can bring diverse organizations to the same table.
💡Genuine Concern — They see the real-world impact of mental health challenges in their workforce and are ready to act.
🔗Cross-Sector Reach — Champions may come from chambers of commerce, health systems, state agencies, large employers, or coalitions.
📣Sustained Commitment — The Champion role extends beyond the Summit — they help sustain the effort and grow the regional cohort over time.
Step 2
The Workplace Wellbeing Summit
This is not a lecture. It is not a conference. It's a full-day, immersive working session that transforms concern into coordinated action — and turns a group of organizations into a cohort.
A Working Session, Not a Sit-and-Listen Day
Teams arrive together and leave with a shared strategy. The Summit helps organizations understand where they stand today, identify gaps in their approach, and build the internal alignment needed to move forward.
Designed for employers, cooperatives, labor unions, professional associations, nonprofits, and public agencies — anyone with a workforce and a responsibility to care for it.
Understand the full scope of workplace mental health risk — suicide, addiction, overdose
Assess organizational readiness using the Workplace Mental Fitness Quiz
Design a cross-functional H.O.P.E. Team of Mental Health Champions
Build internal alignment and shared ownership for what comes next
Decide together whether to move forward into the full certification cohort
